Does God still heal today?

Yes. Scripture never rescinds Jehovah-Rapha. God heals through prayer, through Christian community, through medicine and doctors (which are also His gifts), and sometimes in ways we cannot explain. The timing and manner are His; the promise of His nearness is unconditional.

What if I pray for healing and it does not come?

This is one of the oldest sorrows in the faith. Paul asked three times and heard: 'My grace is sufficient for thee.' Unanswered prayer for healing is not evidence of God's absence — it is often the doorway to a deeper healing of trust. Keep praying. Keep asking your church to pray. And keep clinging to the cross, where the final healing is already secured.

Should I stop taking medicine and only pray?

No. Scripture never sets prayer against medicine. Luke, one of the Gospel writers, was a physician. Pray, take your medicine, and seek godly counsel — all three are gifts from the same Father.

Bible Verses for Healing: 12 Scriptures for Body, Heart, and Soul

"I am the LORD that healeth thee." — Exodus 15:26

Healing is one of the oldest promises in Scripture. Long before hospitals or medicine, God revealed Himself as Jehovah-Rapha — the LORD who heals. The verses below are not magic formulas. They are the settled Word of God, offered to be read slowly, prayed honestly, and carried into whatever pain you bring today: a diagnosis, a grief, a broken relationship, a weary soul.

If you are in a medical or mental health emergency, please call your local emergency number or a trusted crisis line now. Scripture is a gift; it is not a substitute for urgent care.
